A Pony in the wild
Been at least 15 years since I saw one of those

They’re out there. This appears to be the nicest one in the world.

Well, it'll only be working for a few minutes, so...

A 30 year old bad car that runs is probably a good car. Hard as it is to believe

The Pony is awesome! Too bad they never sold it down here!
It’s gotta be more reliable than that Jetta too :p

They were mitsu powered and rear wheel drive, and still had a manual choke. I’ve driven one, Mrs Doorhandle once owned one, an d they were shitty, really shitty. They were shitty when new. somewhere in an attic there is a picture of this car getting shittier. Canadians bought zillions of them though so survivors do appear from time to time

i had one of these only because it was too good of a sweetheart deal and i needed a car, at 128k the engine and diff died on the same day. i had also been driving it not knowing a car could have a carb heater, and it would stutter to die on cold mornings and i would have to pull over for 3 or 4 minutes until the engine bay heat would thaw it out and i could drive a few more miles and repeat for my 60 mile trek to work. it wasn’t until after it died that i found out i could have replaced the carb heater, never heard about any car ever having one, Cessna’s yeah but.....

This is an early Hyundai?

Yeah, a pony. 87ish looking. Hyundai tested the waters with this car in a few places. Canadians bought millions of the 84-85 cars, which were quite ugly. This later one would be more rare as the Excel would have showed up by then.
Canadian 84 and Korean 78

Probably even rarer than a Yugo these days.

The Excel somehow looks less contemporary.
